Pastor Tony Buchanan is a man of God with a depth of experience and compassion. His preaching style is engaging and reflects a solid biblical foundation. He is passionate about discipleship and missions. A special focus of his ministry is for young families, and his desire is to cast a vision for God’s people, the Church. His heart is to see the Holy Spirit empower born-again believers to use their talents to bless the church body, and to reach their neighbors and the nations for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Tony grew up in Ringgold, Georgia where he began his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 16. After 15 years in the United States Air Force, he followed God’s strong call into pastoral ministry and has pastored churches in North Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas. His passions in ministry are biblical preaching, personal disciple-making and worldwide missions. His desire is to lead people and the church to be world-visionary, world-impacting, reproducing followers of Jesus.
Edie grew up in church, so the truths about Jesus and the gospel were instilled in her from an early age. At the age of 12 years old, those truths became real to her, personally, and she gave her heart to the Lord. Edie is a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School in Morristown.
Tony and Edie were married in March of 1987 and have two children who love the Lord and faithfully use their gifts as they serve him. Their daughter, Kristen and her husband, Jeremiah Young, have two children, Kamdyn and Evie. Their son, Joshua, is married to Alex and he is an avid sportsman and golfer.
Alan joined Manley's Staff in April, 2016 as the Senior Associate Pastor – Church Growth. Alan and his wife, Andrea, have been members of Manley since 2008, when they returned from serving 16 years as missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB) in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Alan served stateside as an IMB missions mobilizer from 2008 to 2015, when he retired. Andrea is the church pianist at Manley, and loves serving the Lord in our Worship Ministry. She invited Christ into her heart at the age of 9, at her home church in Greeneville, Tennessee, where she became her church pianist at the age of 11. The Duncans have three daughters and a son, all married, and serving the Lord along with their spouses. The Duncans are blessed to be the grandparents of five grandchildren.
Alan accepted Christ at the age of nine, and was baptized in the Indian Ocean by his father, while his parents were serving as missionaries in Kenya. Alan was called to ministry in high school, and after graduation in Kenya, attended and graduated in 1981 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He completed his seminary studies from New Orleans Baptist Seminary in 1991, while serving an Associate Pastor in Cleveland, TN.
Alan is passionate about obedience to Christ's Great Commission, which is "making disciples of all nations," beginning where we are! His role is to help work alongside our pastor, staff and membership to "Gather and Go," and position Manley Baptist for the Lord to help us "GROW for His Glory!" Alan is responsible to give leadership in most of our ministry areas, beginning with First Impressions, leadership development, helping facilitate our different ministry team's life groups, encouraging effective outreach, and helping the church creatively engage our city, county, country and world for Christ's sake!
I joined the Manley staff as worship pastor in February 2010. As worship pastor, I strive to unite the body of Christ as we corporately praise and worship the Lord. It’s amazing to see how the Lord has orchestrated such a beautiful team of talented people within this church to accomplish this goal and make the name of Jesus more widely known.
My ministry began in college at Carson Newman University and while completing my master’s degree at Lee University. My wife, Heather, and I have served in churches in Georgia and Florida before returning to Morristown.
My favorite place to be is with Heather, our son, Seth and our daughter, Annie. We love to spend time exploring at the zoo, walking and playing at the park, taking trips to the mountains or the beach or simply hanging out at home.
Heather and I want to see Jesus and His name magnified in all we do. We want to live this life together with the families of Manley in an effort to be the best example of Jesus we can be to a world who needs Him.
Dwayne Moore: Pastor of Family & Discipleship
Dwayne Moore: Pastor of Family & Discipleship
Dwayne joined the staff at Manley in 2007 after 26 years in the field of education. He and his wife, Dolores, have been members at Manley since 1987. He serves the church as our Pastor of Discipleship, although he initially served Manley as the Children's Pastor and more recently as our Executive Pastor. He and Dolores have two children, Laura and Brett. Brett, and his wife, Lane, have two young daughters, Julia and Annie.
He was saved at a revival service led by a Godly minister (who would later become his father-in-law) when he was 15 years old and still holds to the words in Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
His favorite place on earth is anywhere his family is gathered. A close second would be the Seven Pools in Maui. When he is not at Manley, you can usually find him running at Panther Creek Park, reading a great book or hiking trails in some remote part of the world.
Jeremiah serves at Manley as our Student Pastor. He was saved at the age of 5, and in high school, accepted God’s calling on his life to become a youth minister. He has vowed to lead students to build a relationship with Jesus Christ, and in turn, disciple others to impact the world around them.
Jeremiah enjoys anything having to do with sports. He loves to be active and moving whether it's playing basketball, football, or ultimate Frisbee. The best time of year for him would have to be March Madness. (He’s a college basketball junkie!)
Really though, there is nowhere else he would rather be than with his family, and some of the best nights are just staying home and watching a good movie with them. First and foremost, He is a family man. He loves spending time with his family, and looks forward to watching Kamdyn and Evie grow up and watching his family grow in numbers! He and Kristen both enjoy having students spend time with them. Living real life together is the best way they see to be examples.
His passion is to see students changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ, discipled into reproducing, world impacting followers of Christ and using the gifts that God has given them to impact the world. He believes every student is good at something, whether it be a talent or a gift, and wants to see them use it in a God honoring way.

Sam and his wife of 29 years, Leslie, are serious University of Tennessee sports fans and also love boating and cattle ranching.

Kathy and her husband, Joe, have been members of MBC for 25 years. They were blessed to raise their own children at Manley. They are the parents of son Chris, and daughter, Bethany. Bethany and her husband Chris have one son, Colton.
Kathy wants to partner with families so together they can adequately minster to preschoolers and help them know they are a special gift from God. She wants to provide a safe and loving environment for children Birth- 4 years while introducing them to the wonder of God.
Kevin Jackson: Worship Associate
Kevin is originally from Birmingham, Alabama but lived in Florida for a while, and he joined the choir where Michael Turner was serving at the time. Kevin has a passion for The Lord and praising His name through song for all the wonderful things He has done: given grace, mercy, forgiveness, salvation and the list goes on and on and on.
The Gulf Coast Oil Spill caused Kevin to lose his job, which turned into our gain. Kevin is certainly thankful to serve The Lord with his gifts here at Manley as the Worship Assistant and is eternally grateful. It was hard losing his job in Florida, but is proof that The Lord works out ALL things for good!

She currently works in a behind-the-scenes role in the Gospel Music Industry. They both are excited about the ministry opportunities ahead.
