Special Friends

Disability Ministry

Our Vision: We relentlessly pursue God's plan for the inclusion of persons affected by disability into the body of Christ.

Manley Baptist Church welcomes families affected by special needs/intellectual challenges. Our goal is for our Special Friends and their families to feel both welcomed and included within the body of Christ and into our church family.

Our church family includes:

  • Special Friends who attend regular services and regular Grow Groups.

  • Adult Special Friends who attend a Grow Group led by Darlene LaPlue and Gary "Coach Sal" Salansky. This group meets on Sunday at 9:30 AM in room 210.

  • Parents of Special Friends who have a Grow Group class taught by Ginni Cronin. This class meets on Sunday at 9:30 am.

  • Special Friends Children that attend a classroom equipped for special needs children who are currently unable or prefer not to attend regular classes or services.

Our Disability Ministry has periodic fellowships, parties and respite opportunities for families of special friends. Our church family also enthusiastically supports the local Special Needs programs: Camp Celebrate and Luke 14.
